Each season it costs about £3500 to run the playsite - and though we are always helped by the goodwill, time and energy of other community groups - any further fundraising and donations are welcome. A gift aid form is available here.
Bournstream is now entering a new chapter - with new people and new ideas - but Barbara Saxton's abiding 'vision' continues.
We hope you can and make good use of all that it offers - to see the exciting changes, enjoying this unique space in your own way - and let others know all about it too, by giving them our website details and our current leaflet.
Thanks
Special thanks go to all our loyal volunteers, Committee members, active parents, carers & regular supporters for giving so generously of their time, energy & ideas.
We are indebted this season to the Starfish Trust ( & benefactors Charlie & Mary Dobson ) for their generous grant in January, 2011 to help us enhance mobility, create a new play area & develop a wildlife 'hide'.
Our thanks also go to Barbara Saxton's family for all their ongoing support - for renewing the Trust for the land, for their encouragement as we grow & for their beautiful information board which celebrates this remarkable & valued legacy.
Thanks so much to the Ruth Osborne school of dancing (led by Mandy Osborne) for their fantastic fundraising on our behalf, to the Edith Strain Trust (a local nursing charity supporting children&pos;s needs), to the 1970 Trust & also to the Wotton rugby club (for playing their charity match in the snow!).
Before Christmas Wotton Rugby Club held their annual Charity rugby match against Ollie Boyles
invitation team comprising of local sports players of past and present.
Following the match,
players were asked to dress as Santa and tour the pubs of Wotton collecting money for this years
charity 'Bournstream Trust'
This is a small local charity meeting a very particular need.
The trust provides a safe, familiar environment for out door adventure and picnics for children
with disabilities or special needs, their families, carers or special schools/respite groups.
The Santa crawl raised £141 which has gone toward a climbing wall. Lee Barton Chair of Wotton
Rugby Club was pleased to present this to Mark Pasco Chair of Bournstream after trying the wall.
To have fresh air, know they are safe
& having fun.
